Fortunately, the LA Times has created an online, interactive game that depicts the pathway there! – Game: How To Be A Writer | Los Angeles Times Illustrated by Paul Duginski and researched by Joy Press and Carolyn Kellogg, the milestones were formed based on answer writers at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books gave to a survey. Ultimately, it seems that becoming a writer is trial and error rather than an exact science or route, but give it a shot and play the game!
